RJ's First Bath

So, we learned recently that we are actually supposed to be giving RJ real baths not just sponge baths. (Thanks, Ana) So, at 11 weeks old we decided to try it out. He looks relatively calm here, but don't let that fool you...
RJ completely freaked out.
The end result was RJ wailing at the top of his lungs and getting so upset that he made himself vomit, me taking pictures and then crying because RJ was so upset and Doug laughing and then having to clean up the urine that RJ sprayed around the bathroom when he completely lost control of himself. Ugh, cross "swimming scholarship" off the list.

April Activities

Doug comes into the house looking like this. When he saw himself in the mirror he said, "I can't believe you didn't freak out."
RJ and his favorite Auntie on his dad's side of the family...
Smiles! (10 weeks old here)
RJ slept for an hour one morning, so I had time to make this much needed plastic bag holder.
RJ upset about his new book falling apart
Coincidently, I had just bought a binding machine for $3 at a yard sale the weekend before so I was able to fix it. And Doug didn't understand why we needed this...Clearly, everyone needs one of these. ;)
Colleagues and their babies (almost all boys!)
Melissa (girl due June?), DeeDee (boy due May), Sara & RJ (2.5 mos.), Bridget & Drew (7 mos.), Sara & Ben (10 mos.), Jane & Wheeler (14 mos.)

Yard Work

Dad and Doug spent most of the day cleaning up the yard...and they got the crazy idea that they could get the streamer out of the tree.

I was mowing the lawn and almost ran over this guy.

Fritels Visit - Day 7

The boys

Grandma and RJ playing

Fritels Visit - Day 6

Visited the Claude Moore Colonial Farm. Here's a picture of all the turkeys.

Donating my hair - Kelly excited about chopping off my ponytail.

Fritels Visit - Day 5

We thought it was going to rain, so we planned indoor activities. The boys went to a movie and the girls went shopping (although eating was a first priority). The boys rode the train at the mall after the movie.

Flying kites in the backyard

Oops!!! Got the kite out, but the streamer remained.

Matthew and RJ in their Lightning McQueen shirts

Swinging on the back porch - Andrew excited to hold RJ.

Fritels Visit - Day 4

We went downtown to see the monuments. Matthew saw a convertible and said, "Dad, look, that car is broken!" He was also pretending to be a robot and Jimmy was trying to get him to destroy me, but instead he said, "I am a robot. Destroy Grandma."

Andrew counted airplanes and when he got to 30, started counting "20-11, 20-12" (as in 20 plus 11 equals 31, etc.) He told me, "If I lived in Virginia, I would see a lot of airplanes." I couldn't figure out why this was so exciting for him, but then realized he probably doesn't see many planes in Wisconsin.

First stop - Lincoln Memorial

Andrew excited to hold Matthew's leash.

Carousel ride

The crew (minus Mom, the photographer) outside Air & Space Museum

Matthew's transportation for the day

Fritels Visit - Day 3

Only in DC would you see this on a hiking trail...

Andrew and I were super excited about this hike!

Clemyjontri - the coolest park ever!

Fritels Visit - Day 2

Baptism

The 'Jimmy hold' which seems to help keep him calm. After Father poured water on his head, RJ started getting fussy and Matthew said, "Is my cousin ok?"
