Easter 2017

After church we all were excited to have our picture taken.

RJ somehow got talked into this photo

The Easter Bunny may need to skip our house next year. I would have shown all of the goodies, but I didn't know how to put the camera into panoramic view.

Head Gasket for EzTrak 225

Today's fun involved replacing the head gasket on the John Deere EzTrak Z225. The Briggs and Stratton Intek 31P777 engine has a design flaw that causes head gaskets to blow (according to the internet).

Here is the project in progress.

You can see the old head gasket lying on the paper towels. The part between the cylinder and the push rods leaked.

On the advice of some random guy, I added some Permatex to the head gasket before installing. Hopefully we get more than 1 year out of this one.

Kwanzan Cherry Tree

It was sad losing the old cherry tree. Today we purchased a replacement. It's a Kwanzan cherry.

Digging the hole was a challenge ... 4 feet diameter by 18" deep. The roots from the old tree provided an added challenge. Luckily I got help from a 2 and 5 year old.

With the hole dug, we got a tree (birthday present from parents) and got ready for planting. Luckily neighbor Laura helped get it off the truck. And double luckily, neighbor Dien showed up to help lift it from the tub and into the hole.

Ready for picture in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... snap. Rats.
