One Hour at McLean Day

It was 90 degrees, but after 3 hours of yard sales, Sara, RJ, and Julia headed to McLean Day. RJ had hockey later in the day, so efficiency was critical.

Baltimore - car and garden

After church we drove to Baltimore to help grandad with his garden and pickup the 'new' 2011 Honda Crosstour.

Everybody helped - we are looking forward to some vegetables later this summer!

Father Daughter Dance at St. Agnes

At the CYO track meet earlier in the day somebody (maybe Sedona or the 8th grade spirit leader) convinced Julia to go to the Father-Daughter dance and St. Agnes.

Before we got in the door, Julia spied one of her friends ... and that was about the last I saw of her. We did get to do one dance together!

 

 Next year I don't think any 'convincing' will be required.

CYO Track Meet

RJ's first track meet. We learned that large multi-school track meets involve a lot of standing around. The meet was impressively efficient, but it still took from 11:30am - 6:00pm for RJ to participate in 4 events.

1. 400 meter run (1:25)
2. 4 x 100 meter boys relay (1:12)
3. 4 x 100 meter mixed relay (1:09) - second place by 1 second
4. 800 meter run (3:15)

Fourth Grade Max Museum

 St. Agnes Fourth Grade put together a wax museum. Kids dressed up and reported on a famous person from Virginia. When somebody walked by and pressed their button, the kids recited some facts and info about their person.

Fox Family

A fox family moved in under the neighbor's shed behind our back yard. There are 3 kids (or whatever a fox kid is called) - 2 of them constantly pester one another - the third is smaller.

In addition to playtime, occasionally we see Mom/Dad run by with a rabbit and feed the kids.

May 22 update:

The back yard is starting to look a bit like a graveyard with a half-eaten squirrel and a skull of some animal. Although in this video, a rabbit escapes. 

 

Foxes are definately not pack animals. At 0:06, as the one fox was chasing the rabbit, two others were running the other way.

Turns out there are more than 3 kids ...
