Fishing on Bay

We picked a perfect cool, cloudy day to go fishing. There was a ban on Rockfish catching, so Grandad bought some bloodworms and we fished for perch, spot, and croakers.

Catching the smaller fish was pretty simple. You put bait on the line. Threw it in the water. Waited 20 seconds, and reeled in a fish.

Heading out to sea

Grandad's first fish of the 2021 season

Julia catches one with her new fishing rod

Two fish with one cast!

Trip was extended as we decided to meet Eileen and Jim on their "cruiser." After catching about 30 fish each, RJ and Doug could be convinced to head home.

Random Summer Fun

Plenty of camps and fun activities during the summer break!

Camps / Learning

  • RJ went to computer building and robotics camp. He learned a lot about playing video games, playing on the playground, met some kids that did not go to St Agnes, and organized a robot soccer game.
  • Julia went to horse riding camp. See Horseback Riding Post for more.
  • Julia went to skating camp. She learned skating basics while they played sharks and minnows, duck-duck-goose, and other games on ice. Hopefully she is ready to play hockey with Doug/RJ.

Antietam

Grampa Farmer Bob hurt his knee trying to keep up with all the kids on the pickleball court,
so we did a driving tour of Antietam Battlefield and a scavenger hunt.

We couldn't convince anyone else to climb the tower with us,
but a friendly lady offered to take our picture at the top.

It was way too hot to walk down there!

Horseback Riding Camp

Julia was so excited for horseback riding camp! Here's the video of everything she learned this week.

Keep your eyes open, the horse moves quite fast.

Golfing - par 3 and Whitetail

While Julia was learning to ride a horse, RJ and Sara were learning to play golf.

The par 3 course was inexpensive and a good starting point.

After some practice, Sara and RJ were ready to take on the Whitetail golf course. Well ... almost ready.

Whitetail on July 4th

Cousin Ari's graduation brought the Cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Fritel to Whitetail.

The boys played pickleball on the tennis court. It wasn't exactly Wimbledon, but everybody had fun.

Grandpa doesn't stop for a bloody arm!

We also did some mountain biking ...

Jett begged a neighbor to ride his Sur Ron.

4 flat tires within 24 hours ... how many guys does it take to change a tire?
This may have been the only day Jett wasn't wearing a muscle shirt.
