More Faces of Julia

Whenever Ana takes my camera, Julia makes all these cute faces for her.

Surprise!

Donna walking from her office to the event. I think at this point she figured out what was going on.

Speechless?

Sick Day

In addition to a horrible cough, RJ developed this rash.

Since we weren't sure at the time what it was, we decided to keep him home for the day. I explained to him that on sick days we clean the kitchen floor. He willingly participated and then said, "Can we go to the park?"

We went to see the doctor and after a 2 hour wait learned that it was probably just a reaction to a virus.
RJ was completely amused with picking all the "flowers" on the walk back to the car.

Mom Week

Doug was out of town for a week and here's what he missed at home.

RJ and Julia happy at dinner

Julia was so happy after her bath, I just couldn't stop taking pictures of her (and clearly have demonstrated no self control in the number I've posted).

Watch your finger, RJ!

After the rain, it was overcast, but the sun was shining on one tree.

More Gardening

Planting seeds from the Easter Bunny

RJ loved watching the pellet turn into soil.

Let's see if any of these seeds grow!

Haircuts

As we were setting up for haircuts, RJ was playing with the tools. The next thing Doug hears is, "Oh Boy! I cut a lot!"

RJ's First Dentist Visit

RJ posing with his book from the dentist explaining what was going to happen.

Showing me his "pearly whites"

RJ was quite amused by the silly mirror. This is what he is going to look like in high school. Baggy shirt and pants pulled half way down

Sitting in the chair looking a little nervous. He was very cooperative and sat down and opened his mouth before they were ready to start the cleaning. I guess it helped that he had been to the dentist/periodontist/endodontist with us at least six times in the last 10 months.

RJ was pretty excited about the television on the ceiling!

He was also pretty excited about the clown that blew up the balloon and the fact that it had a tooth and his name on it. And to top it all off, it was tied to a dinosaur toothbrush.

Overall, we had a good report from the dentist. He just told RJ that he needed to stop sucking his thumb or it was going to cause dental issues (translation: $$$$$). Julia must have misunderstood Dr. Jason, because as we were leaving, I looked down and saw this:
I guess she might have a little feisty-ness in her after all.

That night as RJ was explaining the whole adventure to Doug, Doug was confused on whether we went to the circus or the dentist. And, so far, our attempts at getting RJ to stop sucking his thumb have been unsuccessful. He told me, "But Mom, I just can't go to sleep without my thumb."

Around the House

RJ reading to Julia in the morning

Dad, RJ and Julia reading books in the morning. Dad looks like he's still sleeping.

Nicholas rode his bike over for a play date. RJ asked if he could try it and hopped right on and took off. He has no fear, but training wheels help! :)

I was washing the dishes and looked over at Julia and realized she was playing peekaboo with me using her high chair.

RJ loves playing hide and seek. He is still working on coming up with a place to hide that wasn't where I had hid on the previous turn.

Of course, his "fuzzy baby blanket" has to hide with him.
