Today's fun involved replacing the head gasket on the John Deere EzTrak Z225. The Briggs and Stratton Intek 31P777 engine has a design flaw that causes head gaskets to blow (according to the internet).
Here is the project in progress.

You can see the old head gasket lying on the paper towels. The part between the cylinder and the push rods leaked.
On the advice of some random guy, I added some Permatex to the head gasket before installing. Hopefully we get more than 1 year out of this one.
You must have some tough grass out there!
